Who
Children’s Day School (CDS) is a K–8 school with a strong social justice and arts focus located in the Mission District in San Francisco. They asked us to design a sub-brand to its main brand for its community engagement program, which would bring more excitement to its current brand and hopefully allow people to look at something from CDS and say, “Hey, that’s CDS!”

Why (and How!)
Towards the end of the project, one of the team members left TBD*, citing health issues. Cindy, the remaining member, facilitated this change by managing expectations and asking for help when needed to bring the deliverables from concept to completion. Drawing inspiration from the flowers seen in and around the CDS neighborhood, we created a simple and modern yet fun set of versatile graphic elements that could be used as a system in any situation.

What
To demonstrate the flexibility of this system, we created a style guide for the new brand, an Instagram template, a slide deck template, an email signature, affinity group logos, and a newsletter template. As for physical deliverables, we created flyer templates, event banners, and various merchandise designs, such as mugs and apparel.
