TBD* is composed of a small group of advanced graphic design students and a supervising instructor. Our goal is to provide community partners with quality design services while exposing students to professional experience and the rewards of using their skills in the service of a good cause.

TBD* provides branding, promotion, and any other design need that requires creative problem solving, visual acumen, and a fine eye for detail. We do print, we do web, we do video, we do pretty much anything.

Jacqueline is a graphic designer who is always hungry for both food and cool design books. You can usually spot her from a block away by her pink hair and coffee cup in hand.
Janice is a graphic designer from the tropical archipelago of Indonesia. She is a huge of fan of plain sweaters and sneakers, and is always up for a spicy noodle challenge.
Mark is a visual artist and graphic designer from Honolulu and Muscat. He is a proud plant father and an avid collector of artist books, print ephemera and feline related objects.
Sally is a first-generation Russian American and a San Francisco native. She is a Salsa dance enthusiast, enjoys tea at any time and loves her Cocker Spaniel, Sonya.
Vince is a hard working multimedia designer. He grew up right here in San Francisco. His visual approach changes depending on the project at hand, and is unafraid to try new things.
Zoey is a designer who loves this work—every bit of it. She is a collector of many things and, every so often, a writer too. She loves music, mornings, and laughter.
Alexis is a graphic designer and illustrator from the Bay-Area. Everyday she looks forward to high intensity interval training and sometimes, one or two cookies. If the music is right, you might find her doing a mean two-step to a song she can’t help but dance to.

Lucy is a designer from the Bay Area. She has a particular interest in adding physicality to her graphic design practice and is down to get her hands dirty producing and curating art shows. Catch her upside down in dance class or bird watching in Dolores Park with a bottle of kombucha.

Annie is a graphic designer and illustrator from South Korea. She loves to travel the world and collect museum tickets. One day Annie hopes to work in the entertainment industry, making travel videos and books.
Batul is a graphic designer and illustrator from Scotland and India, who loves donuts more than is necessarily healthy. Fortunately her second love, hiking, helps her burn all those calories. In the future she hopes to keep designing and traveling the world.

Jono Jun is a graphic designer from Fiji, New Zealand and South Korea who hides all his creative design’s under his hat or beanie. His Graphic expression spans from his interest which is street art, music, to video art, sculpture, land art and installations.
Mariana, otherwise known under the alias “M”, is a graphic designer from Monterrey, Mexico. Fun fact about her? she enjoys thrifting, exploring the city, speaking in third person and providing unsolicited facts.
Ryan is a graphic designer from Los Angeles. He focuses on creating memorable designs with expressive typography and engaging imagery. You can find him risographing at the flat lab on campus or hanging out at Ocean Beach with a cold brew.

Henry Rivera is a graphic designer from San Bernardino, California. He aims to explore hybridity within multiple creative processes. If Henry was not a designer, he would have refined his music mixing ability and become a professional DJ.
Janga Militello is a graphic designer from Santa Cruz Ca. He enjoys taking care of plants, hanging out in the sun, and taking inspiration from the natural world. He enjoys working with fine typesetting and digital collaging. If he wasn’t studying design, he would be a retired race car driver or mediocre dog whisperer.

Manasvi is a Visual Designer from Bombay, India. Since she was a little girl, she has loved spending her time watching the National Geographic with her grandfather. If she wasn’t pursuing designing, she would definitely be a scuba diver exploring with her ocean friends.

If Tracy weren’t an artist/designer she would have likely become an activist and would currently be seeking political asylum elsewhere.
Vrinda is a visual designer from Mumbai, India. She appreciates human values in design and hopes to help others tell their stories through her work. When not in front of her computer, she can be found drinking copious amounts of coffee, watching The Office on loop, or searching out the best vegan restaurants in San Francisco. If she wasn’t a designer, she could see herself as an art therapist or a dance performer at a traveling dance studio.

Janel is an elevated Artist that wants to Change The World. She believes that Design can be a potent tool for communication‭ ‬&‭ ‬social transformation. Her intent as an artist is to penetrate people's intellectual boundaries; by creating from a place of purpose; saturate & shift viewers perspectives; by challenging normative context; and extract love & understanding of the human condition. She is also a badass mom.
Joanna is a graphic designer that loves finding new mediums to create things, destroy things, and create things again. She is inspired by people, things, and moments that are unapologetically themselves.

Linh is a craft maker and graphic designer from Hanoi, Vietnam who fell in love with the process of design. She enjoys the break between design projects that gives her enough time to try out her new DIY ideas.
Morgan is a graphic designer and illustrator who enjoys creating work about stigmatized topics, such as drug policy and queer theory. On the weekend you can find them riding their skateboard and drawing caricatures of people they see around SF.
Yashmi is a visual designer from Mumbai with an emphasis on minimalism and user interface designs. She loves ravioli and has recently developed an interest in ikebana.
Aashi is a graphic designer and social activist. When she’s not busy creating protest art, she helps businesses create culturally conscious identity and branding. She loves travelling and the only continents she hasn't been to are Australia and South America. Her love for books has driven her to take an interest in more sustainable methods of production and her travels give her a lot of new ideas for that.
Anah has spent the past 12 years working in some of San Francisco's most beloved indie bookstores as both an illustrator and bookseller. Her passion for print and book cover design brought her to CCA, and her love of image-making and storytelling informs much of her design work. She also moonlights as a tattoo apprentice.

Nielsen is a Graphic Designer from Quezon City, Philippines, who enjoys a funny meme to go with his ordinary Saturday night. He considers himself as an outgoing person who can be rigidly amusing. If not designing, he often spends his time browsing all kinds of movie posters and watching jaw-dropping animations. One day, he aspires to try things he has never done, like riding a bike and owning a family of cats.

Yujin Cha

Yujin is a visual designer who enjoys research and the design process. She often is inspired by South Korean graphic designers, artists, her surroundings, and her personal background. She is a complete foodie and loves to visit new restaurants or cafes.
Yuliia is originally from the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv. Her patriotism, creativity, and desire to influence the future of her country and the world around ignited her passion for design. Yuliia gets inspired by traveling around Europe and exploring every corner of a new city while experiencing new cultures, exposing herself to unfamiliar languages and sensations, and making them familiar. Bella is a graphic designer focusing on concept building, branding, and UI/UX. She loves the fact that people can see graphic design everywhere and it is the strongest communication with the world. As a designer, she always wants to understand how she influences people visually and changes their emotional responses. She finds inspiration from listening to others, observing how people interact with design, analyzing sources, and mindful walking around the neighborhood. Outside of design, she enjoys going to coffee/bread shops, taking long walks, embroidering, and shopping for chocolate :•)
Jennifer is a Korean-American graphic designer and illustrator who loves using and experimenting with color and texture. She enjoys and is interested in typography, publication, and poster design. Off-screen, she does embroidery, enjoys reading, and loves going on spontaneous walks!
Kermen is a graphic designer who values research and process. She enjoys experimenting with different media in pursuit to achieve the ultimate balance between form and context. Also, she loves rediscovering life with her 2 year-old son.
Metis was surrounded by innovation and creativity at a young age due to being born in Silicon Valley. She enjoys playing video games, messing around with her five cats, and walking on railroad tracks at her favorite park. Currently, she is a graphic designer inspired by fun textures and wacky color combos!
Tiya is a graphic designer that enjoys brainstorming and giving stories to design. While designing, her struggle is to balance her hidden playful personality to the context of the design itself. Being far from her home in Indonesia, she’s currently learning how to cook more Indonesian food while listening to her favorite playlist. She also finds her joy in drawing, collecting stickers, discovering new things on a walk, and watching (series, dramas, animes, you name it!).

Afreen is a graphic designer from San Jose, CA. She focuses on creating work based on intercultural relations and how design can create a positive impact in today’s world. When she is not lost in the art and design world, she’s diving into different books or grabbing a bite around local food shops.

M Tanaka

M is a Japanese-American graphic designer from O‘ahu, based in San Francisco. They focus on creative directing, branding, and marketing while paying great attention to detail through every step. They believe in design and its potential to educate, connect, and change the world for the better. M is passionate about ethical design and design that uplifts and supports all communities, creating work that often includes or intersects with intersectionality, queer experiences, multi-lingual/cultural influences, and so on.
Meredith is a mixed-media artist and designer who loves scavenging for hidden things, trying out every idea, and being unrestrained in her work. She loves taking new routes, whether that be in her sketches or on the bus exploring the city, where she can find a good cafe or a funny hat shop. Where will she go next?
Nathan is a multidisciplinary designer from the San Francisco Bay Area. Having previously worked as a videographer and video editor, he really enjoys working across and combining various mediums and is always learning new ways to creatively express ideas. He gets excited about new design technologies and is always looking to expand his toolbox. In his free time you may catch him riding his bike around the bay.

She enjoys interdisciplinary works and always expects more collaboration and communication with other designers. For relaxing, she always immerses herself in working out, dancing, movies and reading.
Yuki Li

Yuki is a graphic and visual designer from Canton City, China. Even though she is now in a foreign country, she is committed to using design as a medium and language to spread her country's culture and to solve social problems. In her free time, she loves to play video games and watch anime to relax.
Carolina Stancati is a graphic designer whose main focus is to highlight the necessity of sustainability and care for nature, while sharing the beauty and needs of her country, usually focusing on the Amazon Rainforest and/or on aspects of her Brazilian culture. This includes lively colors, diversity of animals and plants, happiness, and festivities. Because of this, the building blocks of her practice include: vibrant and bright colors, impactful typography, and organic/animalistic shapes and forms.
Carolyn Kim is a Korean American multidisciplinary designer based in the Bay Area who focuses on building memorable experiences no matter the medium, from branding to visual interfaces. Cultivating her artistic abilities since childhood and expanding to graphic design and UX/UI, she has developed a keen attention to detail while also being able to maintain a holistic view of the overall system. No matter where, you’ll probably spot her indulging in boba while listening to some tunes, or capturing moments through photos as she explores the world.
douglas. is a thoughtful multidisciplinary BIPOC designer, artist, and musician from the San Francisco Bay Area. He specializes in design systems, brand and identity design, UI/UX design, print/publication design, illustration, photography, painting, printmaking and sculpting. His design practice is heavily inspired by his love for exploration, understanding, and bringing people together. He is also a professional multi-instrumental musician with a deep love for many different types of music including soul, r&b, rock, metal, punk, jazz, and hip-hop. ”I’m a passionate creative who aims to amplify the voices of marginalized peoples.”

Jonah Wise is a multidisciplinary designer from San Francisco. He is currently studying graphic design at Califonia College of the Arts, starting in 2020. He has a strong interest in creative direction and his work is focused on design thinking, design systems, and branding/identity. His passion for art, music, and the natural environment constantly influences and inspires his work.

Letica, hailing from the city of Chengdu, China, is a graphic designer, visual artist, and illustrator. Her passions span design systems, branding, print design, and UI/UX design. Driven by a deep-seated desire to cater to user needs and amplify the function and purpose of her designs, she is known for her attention to detail, which she has cultivated from years of practicing painting, observing, and sketching. She finds solace in the exhilarating world of free diving. With her unwavering dedication to pushing both her physical and mental limits, she emerges from the depths of the sea invigorated and content, her heart and soul enriched by the experience.
Lisa Marie is a graphic designer from the San Francisco bay area. She specializes in brand identity, promotional material, illustrations, and most recently AR design. From a young age not only did she grow a passion for creative making but an immense interest in the environment. Her designs always strive to be meaningful and engaging through whatever medium she works in. During her free time, she spends time with her 3 loving dogs, goes on long hikes, or dabbles in her hobby, photography.
Lui White
Student
Lui (Lewis) White is an interdisciplinary artist and designer from New England, now based in San Francisco. He primarily utilizes publishing, book arts, typography, and printmaking in his work. With an emphasis on craft and a hands-on approach, he explores a range of topics from the queer experience, to environmental activism, to ephemerality and archives. He aims to make information more accessible and call people to action through his designs. When not making things, you can find him at your local punk show, wandering a museum, or reading a book.
Sam Beutelschies is a graphic designer and visual artist hailing from Colorado who specializes in design systems, motion graphics, photography, bookmaking and experiential design. A writer at heart, Sam’s designs are often narrative, experimental, and thematic by nature, and he specializes in sustainable design through materials and methods. She believes in graphic design’s ability to help people understand one another.
Grace is a visual designer from the Bay Area. She designs through narrative in 2D, 3D, and 4D design. She has a passion for experience-based design and is interested in new technologies including AR and VR while still employing analog methods.

Ian is a designer, maker, and hacker who lives in (and loves) San Francisco. His work blends the physical and the digital, working across typography, books, prints, stickers, websites, programs, textiles, collage, and other media. He wants to use design as a regenerative tool to help explore more connected ways of being.

Julie is a multidisciplinary graphic designer and creative from Taiwan. Her goal is to create designs and stories that ignite conversations and resonate with people. When she's not designing, you can find her crafting, sewing, crocheting, or embroidering while listening to laid-back music, Taiwanese indie bands, and podcasts.
Katiana is a graphic designer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She channels her passion for illustration, printmaking, and hand lettering into her everyday art practice as well as her graphic design work. Outside of design, she finds joy in yoga, dance, cooking, custom nail art, and the company of her cat.
Kfir Zax

Kfir is a 21-year-old graphic designer from the Bay Area of California. His individual artistic approach is inspired by the subcultures he grew up in: Skateboarding and Graffiti.
Noah is a multidisciplinary graphic designer native to California who specializes in video editing, writing, motion graphics, illustration, and prop-making. He is especially passionate about video games and film and uses those mediums’ fundamental principles and philosophies as a basis for his work to evoke visual storytelling experiences as pop culture media before him has. Noah has also produced multimedia marketing art for several indie game companies and AAA game producers such as SEGA. When not playing games, Noah can be found building computers and keyboards, cooking, cleaning, playing guitar, or cycling through his backlog of films.
Rachel Berger

Rachel has taught at CCA since 2010 and helped create TBD* in 2017. In her practice, she uses the tools of design to respond to and spark discourse on identity and culture. She has strong opinions about snacks and current events.

Weeland is a visual designer, illustrator, and video creator. She grew up in opposite parts of the world: Guangdong, China and San Francisco, USA. Immersion in two culturally distinctive worlds sparked her desire to become a storyteller and emphasize different voices in a racially diverse society. Her illustrations capture what she sees, her publications bring in what she cares about, and her videos deliver a strong voice about touching topics. Design is not only about problem-solving—people are no problem—it is about trying to understand people’s needs, and the designer becomes the bridge.
